Producing the best healthy, tasty and quality walnuts by following the most sustainable practices.

Founded in Portugal, Exelnut is a family owned agricultural company that produce shelled and inshell walnuts.

The farm, Vale Aravil, located in the rural area of Idanha A Nova, extends on a 240 hectares land of deep alluvium soil. Planted in 2018 and 2019 the varieties Chandler and Howard were selected for their numerous qualities and their high productivity and marketable value. The Mediterranean local climate is ideal for those soft-shell varieties, with warm summers but cold enough winters to fulfill the chilling requirements for good flowering.

A new large processing facility of 4000 square meters has been completed in 2023 and is now fully operational. The plant holds an impressive 15 tons per hour cleaning, drying and sizing lines complemented by a full cracking line, several packaging machines and extended cold chambers.

In terms of production processes, Exelnut which is Global Gap, IFS and BRC certified, uses the most advanced, up-to-date technologies to produce walnuts at the highest quality European standards of quality, in the most sustainable way possible.
